The sixth release “14
Friends” (Day 006), released
solo by Eric Scott
in 1991 represents some of the sharpest of his early song output
aimed at college radio. Recordings from these germinal new wave
years 1985-1988, feature Eric on vocals (today this would be
a rarity), guitars, bass, percussion and keyboards.
“14 Friends” immediately drew comparisons to Julian
Cope, John Cale and New Order in its honest (albeit blemished)
approach, and its leanings towards dark textures against melodic,
uptempo keyboard progressions.
