ERIC SCOTT. “WATERFALLS.”
DAY 016. COMPACT DISC |
The brooding “Waterfalls”
(Day 016) is an odd diversion from a mostly
instrumental legacy, but Eric
Scott puts the record straight: “I’ve
always been attracted to dark songs. I wrote this one to be
slow, but I’m not into ballads. After having played all
the instruments, sang all of the parts, I started looking down
upon it; it felt out of place, after my avoidance in a career
in serious songwriting. So then, it’s about ten years
later, and my girlfriend remixes the song (to surprise me) and
makes it about 30 percent faster – I now love the song.”
