Three Nights and Four Days of “Taste-Italia”:
The Flavour of a Typical Tuscan Lunch
At The Villa San Michele School of Cookery in Fiesole,
Italy
Taste-Italia,
the organization founded in order to introduce Italian
cuisine to gourmets all over the world, has chosen the
Villa San Michele School of Cookery and its renowned
Chefs for a series of Courses on Tuscan gastronomy.
Once a 15th century monastery designed by Michelangelo,
the hotel has now been transformed into one of Europe's
most charming and picturesque hotels, offering an abundance
of activities and amenities to enjoy. Located in Fiesole,
Italy overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany, you
will be staying in a villa of unsurpassed beauty in
an oasis of peace, only a few minutes from the centre
of Florence.
Experience
Wish visitors will learn from renowned chefs Attilio
Di Fabrizio, Cesare Merretti, and Luca Orini, in the
School of Cookery’s lavish kitchens, how to make
a complete, easy and delicious meal with the most famous
dishes of the Tuscan tradition. In addition to partaking
in this once-in-a-lifetime luxury cooking experience,
she will also savor her free time at the Villa San Michele
during which she may choose to play tennis, shop in
nearby Florence, enjoy the panoramic gym, swim in the
open-air heated swimming pool, or take walks in the
villa’s gardens and park.
Upon arrival there will be
a welcome cocktail reception and dinner with regional
wines to allow participants to get to know on another.
Every day, Villa San Michele’s Chef Attilio Di
Fabrizio will be joined by one of his team of Chefs-
Cesare Marretti or Luca Orini- and will take turns with
the other Chefs in presenting a complete menu, from
hors d’oevres to dessert. Lessons will be held
in the mornings or the afternoons, after which all participants
will enjoy eating dishes prepared during the day.
The recipes change according
to the months and seasons. Some examples of typical
Tuscan classics? Pumpkin flowers stuffed with pecorino
cheese and marjoram, “ribollita,” or bread
soup, potato dumplings alla fiesolana, rabbit stew alla cacciatore with black olives and, just to end on a sweet note, ice-cream
cake alla senese... Gournets
of the world, unite: we’re waiting for you!
