The evening of Saturday, May 20, 2006 marked the date for the Pete Moraites "Spelling Test" video album Launch Party, at Ocean Front Gallery, along the legendary henna-tatooed, roller-blading boardwalk in Venice, CA.
Eleven o’clock heralded the premiere live performance of Salvador Dalek (Eric Scott on laptop and mixing desk, with Pete Moraites providing visuals and live VJ-mix throughout the set) – unleashing a storming set of progressive house, trance, and drum’n’bass remixes from the Day For Night back catalogue, spanning a breakneck 56-song live remix (in under an hour’s time). In late 1996, artist Andrew Lakey commenced an enormously prodigious painting cycle that continued (in its first phase at least) until November 1997, and which resulted in thousands of dazzlingly colorful works of art. In 2006, he resumed work on a new body of work – oversized tableaus inspired by these creations – "The Unencountered."
What began as a methodological color study using nature icons has become an obsessive-compulsive journey into a vast and phantasmagoric world of enchanting and utterly original, new form factors of botanica and beings, detailed in sumptuous color and signature line work...

Lakey’s extraordinary subjects in Brilliant
Nature were derived using an improvisational process
employing the unconscious, his memory and imagination. The sheer
volume of subjects painted in this collection – including
flowers of every type, exotic fish, mythical birds, idyllic animals,
magical crickets, psychedelic snails and countless otherworldly
flora and fauna – represent a whole taxonomy of an artist’s
known and imagined world. Lakey does not simply sample his universe,
he exhausts it completely.

"Program Youself" by Pete Moraites (with typography by Alyson Boote and music by Salvador Dalek) became the #1 featured video on YouTube, and had been put into rotation on a Washington DC-based NBC cable affiliate, dedicated to the arts. Before all of the pieces had begun to receive a lot of attention from other interested parties as well as galleries. This video was later collected as part of the music videos on the DVD "Spelling Test".

Media provides Interactive Television (iTV) content
solutions for advertisers through their agencies. Their primary
focus is to help advertising agencies evolve the changing world
of television.
In early October 2005, Eric
Scott of Day
For Night Multimedia composed and produced the musical
underscore and custom audio design for their 2005 interactive
DVD presentation to investor partners. The finished track, “Sometimes
Why,” evinces an intriguing, and occasionally
unsettling vowel movement; an orchestration of crowd walla and
digitally-processed spoken voice samples.
