It’s finally here – the official website for renaissance man and VJ, illustrator, writer, director, graphic artist, motion graphics editor and composer Peter Moraites.
Forming a virtual gallery of the artist’s own videos, music, writings and notes from the pages of his many sketchbooks, this site offers yet another window into the creative mind that brought to the world the imaginative videos “Program Yourself,” “Twitterpation,” “Linetwine,” “Simpletongue” and “Learning Curve,” among many others. The full motion graphics work by this young director can also be seen on his DVD “Spelling Test.”

Eric: “Intended originally as a reference site with artist’s monograph, I stopped updating this site in the late ’90s as I began to use Day For Night.com more formally to share an increasing number of writings and works. Therefore it’s now a legacy site work which for me is kept special by the bizarre opening landing page which comes from the NIGHTlinkRail design experiments, complete with flashing strobes, paypoint machine and exhibition posters.”

A weathered alley-side storefront, re:Fresh is accessible in a mere 15 second’s walk (one click) from the home site. At the gallery’s entrance, a tenant directory displays the following roster of tenant options, alongside a stack of door buzzers. They read:
1. re:Fresh Design Gallery
3. Poetic License
4. NIGHTloops Audio Library
5. The True Wheel
Converted from an abandoned warehouse site, the design gallery on the upper level showcases the graphic images of Day For Night and NIGHTfonts in an ongoing slide show and sound installation.
Other site spaces leased include the Day For Night sound studios, workshops for audio design, poetry and intermedia, and a lending library for customized industrial samples and loops.
A comprehensive virtual gallery and artspace, re:Fresh is the first of three virtual structures built for the public display of visual and graphic works by Day For Night artists.
