“Over the past few years, I’ve built up an Instagram channel where I’ve cultivated as a display of the everyday. Around this time, a solo guitar project/act I began to rehearse for emerged; based on the idea of me, playing live and doing so with a musical set that I could perform entirely solo if I wished, playing electro-acoustic and post-rock, with avant-garde jazz-classical overtones, and performed live with the aid of simple looper pedals.
‘Ffolk’ is thus one such invented sub-genre, part folktronica, the ‘Forest’ of Folk emphasizing 12 string, shimmering guitar textures, post-rock or loops-based non-songs (with the occasional song) and other instrumental works produced during the course of a typical work day.”
– Eric Scott

Over time, I’ve built up an Instagram channel as my celebration of the everyday. This book is titled The Everyday, but that’s not to belittle the subject matter; I’ve given a fair amount of love to every one of these images. Let’s face it, I’m not really a #nofilters kind of guy; I’ve always needed […]
Art Direction Eric Scott, Art & Musical Director for Day For Night: “With instrumental, and especially textural electronic music, the primary relevance of music is clearest – namely, that music doesn’t really mean anything – it doesn’t need all sorts of lyrics and words and gimmicks in order to be successful.” Therefore, it feels appropriate that […]

CD | Download “Vigilant” (Day 046) presents eleven tracks by Eric Scott, leading with the Britpop-tinged “My Nature”, and merging smoky trip hop, brooding melodies and dark keyboard layers, with the occasional upbeat diversion.
CD | Download “A Priori” (Day 043) collects ten tracks by Eric Scott, merging smoky trip hop, brooding melodies and dark keyboard layers, with the occasional upbeat diversion. “I wrote much of this in the early half of 1997. At that time, I was experiencing some turmoil, and documented almost everything in audio journals, and in […]
The inner musical soup of Eric Scott begins as a swirling repetitive haze of musical, nearly ‘hauntological’ melodies at times. This forms the basis for the Inner Radio project, which began on the 1st of January 2014, and has continued as a musical diary since, with daily results pouring from the everyday of Day For […]
CD-R | Downloads | Journal A collection of daily acoustic demos, recorded between July 2009 and December 2021, and encompassing the entire songwriting catalogue by Eric Scott, for Day For Night/Editions La Nuit Américaine. Eric: “In a way, this project represents a kind of re-invention; where the freedom of hearing oneself re-interpreted, as many as […]
CD | Download “The Drowning Fish” (Day 033) is a collection of contemplative-yet-upbeat pieces for electric guitar, with a shift of emphasis upon arrangements that “could be reproducible live”…This is not to suggest that Eric Scott has any performance dates planned for the near future; the composer/producer prefers the studio environment above all else. “I really […]

CD | Download The brooding “Waterfalls” (Day 016) is an odd diversion from a mostly instrumental legacy, but Eric Scott puts the record straight: “I’ve always been attracted to dark songs. I wrote this one to be slow, evem though I’m truly not into ballads. After having played all the instruments, sang all of the parts, […]
