Interactive CD-R | Sitework An experiential CD-R comprising the full NIGHTlinkRail.com internet project, Enter Active (Day 019) opens its doors at the homepage at Station 019, and presents a guide through the full 100 stations, along with the mixed marketingese messages and multimedia of Day For Night’s deliberately confusing and ironic railway parody, in a self-contained, hermetically-sealed universe. Salvador Dalek was born June 2001 as the collaborative project identity of multimedia musician/artist/designers Eric Scott and Peter Moraites, after meeting at a workshop with Tomato based in New York City. They have chosen this recording/remixing moniker as a channel for new creative and professional activities.
Not to be confused with Salvador’s wiser, older sibling, Julie Android, Dalek operates in a definitionless, sampladelic universe.
The first Salvador Dalek public event – was a performance LIVE JAM (Listen) in Venice, CA during the Peter Moraites DVD launch party in May 2006.
Notable Salvador Dalek projects and appearances include:
Day 099 ‘The Railway Chest” is something of an anomaly in the Day For Night catalogue. Designed by Eric Scott, this oak-paneled compartmental travel chest stands on its own feet and also happens to hold coffee and drinks. Hand crafted in intricate detail, this ameublement has been modeled after an antique railway trainspotter’s chest.
Kunstfabriken, featuring the Day For Night “all-stars” (as they are unofficially called in this one-off project) perform this playfully motorik instrumental for Bass, Guitars, Drums, Melodica, Piano, and Toy Xylophone, with guest contributions from members of The Everyday, Rhythm Factory, Salvador Dalek, Mr. No-Logo, Found and Cowboy Joe. Released on the 30th anniversary of the […]

Art Direction Eric Scott, Art & Musical Director for Day For Night: “With instrumental, and especially textural electronic music, the primary relevance of music is clearest – namely, that music doesn’t really mean anything – it doesn’t need all sorts of lyrics and words and gimmicks in order to be successful.” Therefore, it feels appropriate that […]
